I've been a writer of one kind or another for most of my adult life - although sometimes my writing career has consisted of nothing more creative than compiling shopping lists and CVs.

It was Mr Bradley who changed the direction of my life, when I was fourteen years old. Up until then I had been content to drift through life in the same way I was drifting through school - with nothing sparking my imagination and no-one encouraging me to shine.
